# Karma You earn karma on Wusoup whenever you **contribute to the community** by: - Starting chats - Sending messages - Helping [[Usage/Reputation#Community ratings|rate]] the users they meet - Helping [[Usage/Reputation#Reporting users|report]] users breaking the [[About/Rules|Community Rules]] - Helping welcome new members - [[Usage/Invites#Giving invites|Inviting]] quality users As you earn karma over time you'll reach new **karma levels**, e.g.: ![[Assets/ss-your-karma.png]] And every *5* karma levels earns you a **reward**: **+1** [[Usage/Kudos|kudo]] to award. Think of karma as "XP" (experience points) in tabletop or computer or role-playing games. It's there for a bit of fun, and to encourage positive community-minded behaviour. > [!warning] Kudos cap > You can't hold more than 2 kudos to award at once, so there's an incentive to award them when you have them! ## Karma leaderboard Wusoup's **top 2000 users** by karma are listed on a private leaderboard (high score table), visible only to other users on the list. ## Karma hall of fame Some high-karma milestones may also be celebrated privately when you reach them. This is mostly for fun: a small nod to folks who've spent real time helping keep Wusoup useful, kind, and active.
