If you're looking for sites like Omegle for text chat, it helps to separate two things you might miss: being connected to a stranger instantly, and having an interesting conversation with someone unexpected.

Those sometimes came together. Sometimes you spent a long time clicking past people before a good chat happened.

An alternative can offer the second without copying everything about the first. But it may ask you to make an account, write a profile, and slow down a little. Whether that's a good trade depends on what you want.
